Who am I?

My name is Kellie Steinbeigle and I am a student at Brigham Young University. I have spent the last two and a half years here searching for the major and the path that is right for me. After trying a small handful of different options, I have happily and finally settled on a visual arts degree emphasizing in illustration! Oh what a joyous day it was when I was accepted into that program without even submitting an official portfolio! I felt so blessed and thankful and knew that I had found the right place for me! Now that I am further into the major, though it is hard, I still find more and more reasons why I am glad I ended up here and not in another major. I am so happy to be studying illustration!

I was born to Matthew and Shannon Steinbeigle as the first of four girls. Our family spent lots of time taking vacations and traveling to numerous National and State Parks, enjoying the many beauties of this world. These excursions have instilled in my a love of nature and the outdoors! Other interests I have developed throughout my life include dancing of all kinds and types (modern, ballet, jazz, tap, clogging, world dance, social dance, ballroom, swing, hip-hop, and even cultural dance!) playing the piano, drawing and painting, photography, design, astronomy, anthropology, architecture, archeology, foreign languages and cultures, horticulture, art history, old buildings, select sports (including ultimate frisbee, softball, BYU football, and the Utah Jazz), outdoor adventures (such as hiking, rock climbing, canoeing, and camping), and winter sports (especially snowboarding). Oh the many interesting things in life! I also really enjoy spending time with the people I love including but not limited to my family and friends. I believe that we are all here on this earth for a purpose and that each of us has the ability and potential to affect the lives of others for good.

Of all that there is to know about me, I think the most important thing you will learn is that I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and I honor and value that membership with every ounce of my soul. This membership is perhaps the greatest blessing in my life as it has been the main factor in aiding me through the normal ups and downs of every day life. I have a strong testimony of Jesus Christ, who is our Savior and who knows every one of us deeply and personally. I know that there is a God in Heaven and he is our Heavenly Father. He is also Jesus's father and he also loves us more than any mortal being can understand. I know that we can turn to these eternal beings personally through prayer when we have needs in our lives, or fears, or heartaches, or even when we are grateful and full of joy. I know that Father in Heaven answers our every prayer and that Jesus Christ helps succor us in our times of trial. The Holy Ghost is the third and separate member of this Godhead and my life is also affected by his influence daily if I am still and listening for his quiet promptings. I know that these three together have a personal interest in my life and are helping me every day to make good decisions that will help lead me to one day live with them again. This is the most important truth that I know and I bear testimony of it with all the strength my heart possesses in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
